SAS Guiding Services are now operating, using the knowledge acquired by Mark Gabriel and myself, Steve Younger over the past 20 years or so. We are initially offering a Winter service of guided fishing throughout the fens, for zander and pike, by boat and bank and using lures and / or baits, whatever is your reference.

In the near future we will be bringing to the service, our experiences from traveling across the globe in pursuit of more exotic and exciting fishing for a wide variety of species that are becoming ever more popular with anglers here in the UK and across the world.

Pike and Zander Fishing:

A typical bank based pike / zander day will consist of 8 to 10 hours fishing + travel:
Meet at the shop at 6am. (or to suit yourself) Travel to the chosen area in our 4wd vehicle, where we will start fishing using your chosen method, ie lures or baits, leap frogging at intervals to find the fish, relocating to new areas / drains should they be hard to find or conditions change. If you prefer fishing with live baits, while you are fishing for the pike or zander I will be catching your baits.

A typical boat based day will include trolling lures & baits and or static bait and lure fishing, dependent upon conditions and your preferences.

Night sessions for zander will be primarily bank based, in Bivvie's (although I can be talked into the occasional after dark trolling session !)
Jigging can be successful after dark so this is an option, however I hope you don’t want to spend a full night doing it ! Another night tactic that can be very productive is leap frogging along the drain, but again I wouldn’t want to be doing it all night !

Waters fished include the Relief Channel, the Middle Level, the Great and Little Ouse Rivers, along with several other “secret” waters that I have found over the last 20+ years of fishing the Fens.

We can also offer boat & bank based pike fishing on the Thurne, Bure & Yare Broads systems.

Sea Fishing:

We run our own boat (Warrior 165) and are offering trips, fishing the inshore waters of the north Norfolk coast for tope, bass and mackerel (June to September) and the South Norfolk & Suffolk coast for cod, bass and other bottom species (September to May)

This is for a maximum of 2 anglers, but if you need to accommodate a larger party I can book you with partner guides on larger craft.

Should you wish to book with us, the only thing you need to bring is yourself. We can provide all tackle, bait, bivvies, boats, transport from our shop, permits / day tickets, food and drinks.

You can of course bring your own tackle etc should you wish, and of course we do have a well stocked tackle shop should you wish to buy any items of tackle you see in use !

Foreign, Exotic and Big Game Fishing.

I personally have been traveling abroad to fish since the late 80’s and have fished destinations as diverse as Africa to Europe, with many destinations in between, including:

• Botswana: Tigerfish
• Canada: Sturgeon and salmon
• Denmark: Pike, zander, perch and sea trout
• Malaysia: (sailfish, sharks, giant trevally, king mackerel, giant snakehead, jungle perch etc)
• Mozambique: Yellow fin tuna, ignoblis kingfish, queen fish, Spanish mackerel, bonefish.
• Namibia: Bronze whaler sharks, steenbras, kob
• Spain: Comizo barbel, carp
• Texas, USA: Alligator gar
• Zambia: Tigerfish and vundu catfish
