Target species (all to specimen sizes) in our area include: Roach, Bream, Tench, Carp, Eels, Pike, Perch, Zander and Catfish.

The drains most especially can give you superb fishing on the right day and certainly hold zander close to record size and pike to 30lb+, with big carp in excess of 35lb also being caught, you have plenty to choose from !

SAS Guiding Services E-mail
Guided zander anglingSAS Guiding Services are now operating, using the knowledge acquired by Mark Gabriel and myself, Steve Younger over the past 20 years or so. We are initially offering a Winter service of guided fishing throughout the fens, for zander and pike, by boat and bank and using lures and / or baits, whatever is your reference.

In the near future we will be bringing to the service, our experiences from traveling across the globe in pursuit of more exotic and exciting fishing for a wide variety of species that are becoming ever more popular with anglers here in the UK and across the world.

Keep an eye on the site for announcements of what trips are on offer!

Pike and Zander Fishing:

A typical bank based pike / zander day will consist of 8 to 10 hours fishing + travel:
Meet at the shop at 6am. (or to suit yourself) Travel to the chosen area in our 4wd vehicle, where we will start fishing using your chosen method, ie lures or baits, leap frogging at intervals to find the fish, relocating to new areas / drains should they be hard to find or conditions change. If you prefer fishing with live baits, while you are fishing for the pike or zander I will be catching your baits.

A typical boat based day will include trolling lures & baits and or static bait and lure fishing, dependent upon conditions and your preferences.
You can see what we will be offering to you by taking a look at our UK Trip Galleries.

Client Testimonials

Top tips bring big zander on the final night!
Hi Steve

Yeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

Final night of the river season and at 8.30 pm my sons far bank rod, Middle Level at Crooked Chimney went off.  He initially thought he was snagged then it started moving and he played a fish that he said shook its head like nothing he has played before.  Then as my headlight illuminated the water she came into view, a ZANDER and a plump female at that.

Testimonial - Ron Fox - Zander Fishing

Dear Steve,

I just have to say thanks again for last nights trip after the Zander.

You just couldn't do enough to make sure that the trip was a success
and I think you were as chuffed as I was when I took my first ever zed.
Your extensive knowledge of where the fish were likely to be and their habits
 certainly paid off.

Roll on Autumn and a return trip after a double !

Best Wishes

Ron

An extremely enjoyable experience!

I have just had a one day pike fishing excursion with Steve Younger in and around the Fenland drains and it was an extremely enjoyable experience.

We set out at 7.00 am in heavy snowfall and i must admit my expectations were not high.

The roads were treacherous to say the least, but Steves' 4wd coped very well with the conditions.

All the rods were set up and ready to go and I was into a decent fish at our first venue.
